52 Weeks of Happy - 3/52

Following on with Jen at little birdie, here are my four photos of happy for the past week.

I'm a day late on this because I have been very sick since Sunday afternoon. I think it's the flu. I haven't been to a doctor, just trying to take care of myself at home, and the Bear has been very helpful to me. He has been able to work from home, which has been really nice.

One thing which made me happy was snow. We don't get a lot of snow here typically, but it does happen. We had a storm which brought us about two inches of snow during the week and it looked very pretty in the yard.

During the snowy day we stayed indoors. I sewed my oilcloth placemats and my small Bears played very nicely together, which is always refreshing. This picture makes me laugh. We don't encourage them to play along gender lines but they usually seem to end up doing that anyway. This was the scene in the living room, Lego for him and baby dolls for her.

This picture makes me happy too. My little girl is made of bright colors. She wears her play tutu every day.

On Thursday I had about an hour to myself after putting away groceries and cleaning up the kitchen. I celebrated with a big cup of tea and a cinnamon roll. It was really enjoyable.

  1. Oh dear, sorry to hear you've been so sick. Take care.

  2. Hi Thistle, I've just found your lovely blog. I can't believe you've only been up and running since December. It looks so well established - I think I need to work on mine a bit more! Beautiful photos as well. I look forward to keeping up with you. Hope you feel better soon, there's lots of flu around in the UK too. Claire x

  3. Hi Claire! Thank you for visiting my blog. I'm really enjoying blogging; I had another blog years ago but I stopped using it. I will be checking out your blog too. Thank you for the well wishes, I am hoping to get better soon. This flu is terrible, I hope you don't catch it! Take care.

  4. Hope you are over the flu now. I like your happy list - that cake looks so good. Do you still have those Cinnabon (did I get that right) stores in the US? When I was in America on my honeymoon we discovered those and bought some every day, they were SO good.

  5. Hi Gillian! I'm still pretty sick, but thank you. I actually bought that cinnamon bun in the supermarket bakery, so it was nothing fancy but it was really good! We do still have Cinnabon here. I've never actually eaten there before. I know for sure it's still around though because there is one which shares space with a sandwich shop we like, Schlotzsky's.

  6. Hi Jennifer,
I blog hopped from Carol and have spend a lovely half hour reading your blog. Sorry you’re not well at the moment and hope and pray you will soon be 100% well. I loved reading about your little family and all your home crafts and cooking. Your crochet is wonderful and like you, I too crochet-ed < is there such a word???> a ripple blanket from Lucy’s pattern. You so remind me of myself when I was a young Mum, sewing and cooking and loving every minute of it. Today I am a grandma and love that too altho my grand children are young teenagers now. I live a very happy and blessed life in a small pretty little town in Essex UK with my second DH who is the most wonderful person. I sometimes think I don’t deserve him! Enjoy your little bears they grow up too quickly.
Keep happy and crafting and cooking!

PS Loved those place mats, very pretty.

  7. Hi Chris! Welcome to my blog. Thank you so much for visiting and for leaving such a lovely and kind comment. I really love my life and I am learning to embrace it more every day. It's very important to me to be appreciative of what I have and to demonstrate that kind of attitude for my children. Your life sounds very happy and blessed as well. I am sure you do deserve your husband! You sound like a very sweet person. I look forward to talking more. Take care.

Thank you for leaving a comment. It's so good to hear from you! I don't always have time to reply but I try to answer questions when I can.
