This week

Cold, wet, dark afternoons. The foothills looked mystical.

Hand-quilting my Scrappy Trip-Along quilt, which is finished and in use. More on that soon.

Sleepy, sick small Bears. The LB made himself a nest on the couch in the family room.

Stuffed peppers (recipe here) for dinner on Tuesday were a hit as always. Leftovers for lunch, too.

Etsy purchases come from far and wide. Japan has a lot of pretty things.

 A new crochet project, for a teacher's end-of-year gift.

Pulled weeds in the front yard but couldn't pull these wild asters, the birth-month flower of both small Bears.

Making birthday cards for my twin sisters. I would so much rather make cards than buy them.

It has been a long week. But we're getting back to normal now. The LB went back to school today. This afternoon, we have a parent-teacher conference at the GB's preschool; we're looking forward to discussing her progress. At the same time, I feel it's a bit unnecessary: she's doing great, making friends, is happy and well-adjusted. I already know these things about her.

I'm going to make my delicious Italian sandwiches for dinner when we get home from the conference. I have to pick up a loaf of Italian bread when I go out to get the LB from school. Tomorrow night, we plan to go out for dinner. I'm very excited. I've been feeling that old cooking fatigue lately.

We're starting to plan a family vacation to Colorado. We're planning it for June. I worked on finding accommodations this week and booked something wonderful. I used a website called Airbnb to find it. This company is really cool. They have rentals all over the world and they specialize in interesting, funky, unique places to stay. You could stay in a castle, or in a retro camper, or in a Victorian house. It's so much fun to browse.

I'm so glad it's Friday. The GB seems well enough to go to her pre-ballet class this morning so I think we'll head out soon. And I'm thinking my four days home with sick children has earned me a cup of coffee I didn't have to make for myself. Skinny latte, here I come.

Hello and welcome to my new readers and followers! I'm so glad to have you here. Thank you for all the recent comments and compliments on my posts, photos and creations. I am so flattered, and pleased that people appreciate my little blog.

Please note that I have added buttons for Bloglovin' and RSS to my blog, at the bottom of the right-hand sidebar, below my labels cloud. Feel free to use them to follow my blog after Google Reader goes away. I don't use Google Reader myself, I usually read blogs via my Blogger homepage. As long as Google Friend Connect remains, it should be okay. But Bloglovin' looks good, I may join that as well.

Also on the blog-keeping front, I'm starting to think about maybe having a little giveaway. My GFC followers count is starting to close in on 100 (which is remarkable to me, seriously), and I'm thinking that I might do something to celebrate when I reach 100 please watch this space!

  4. I soooooo love the fabric you've chosen for your quilt, looking forward to reading about that soon. Glad to hear the little bears are on the mend, it's amazing how a day on the sofa covered with a crocheted blanket helps the mood (we do exactly the same in our house). Before I read this post, I popped onto bloglovin to make sure I was following you! And good job I did as I wasn't, but that's fixed now. :) Have a lovely weekend, Jennifer. x

I get into cooking slumps too. I love cooking, but it gets tiresome everyday.

Seriously would love to know your photography secrets! I still use my blogger homepage to read blogs, but I have found the bloglovin app for my phone is great. Easier to leave comments, especially for the blogs that don't have a mobile page.

  28. A bit of a late comment (busy weekend!) but this has to be said. If you're coming to visit Colorado in June-ish, do try to make it to the Estes Park Wool Market! It runs on June 8th and 9th in Estes Park, a little town in the mountains an hour or two from Denver, and the scope of it is absolutely amazing.

Thank you for leaving a comment. It's so good to hear from you! I don't always have time to reply but I try to answer questions when I can.
